Our first ever CPD Event at The Stella Cinema within Dublin’s magnificent Devlin Hotel took place on Thursday 23rd June and was well received by everyone in attendance.
The theme for the day was ‘Fit for Purpose’ and was delivered by HALT General Manager Noel McKernan and BURNBLOCK’s Sales Director Jesper Henriksen and Technical Director, Paw Faelled who flew from Copenhagen to co-host the event. Topics included current standards for FR wood, the EN13501-1 standard, third party documentation and learning lessons from previous timber cladding structure fires.
Following the event, BURNBLOCK’s representatives noted, “We are always ready to help in a good cause, which is supporting our business partners. Thank you HALT - Natural Fire Retardant Treatment for the invitation and the opportunity to participate in the development of your company!”
Keith Carney - Executive Building Surveyor at Dublin City Council said, “Thank you for being able to attend. Some lessons learned and much appreciated information on how to progress the use of timber going forward.”
The event was also a positive first experience for Munster Technological University student Wren Bracken, who said, “I was delighted to attend this well-organised and fascinating event. It was great to hear about HALT - Natural Fire Retardant Treatment and BURNBLOCK®. Special thanks to Claire McCann for making me feel so welcome at my first CPD event!”
In the evening, attendees and more guests made their way to the Mayson Hotel on North Wall Quay in the city centre for a social event, networking and refreshments to further introduce HALT and what we do contributes in keeping timber structures and the people with them safe from fire.
