What is TGV timber?
TGV cladding uses an interlocking design where each board connects seamlessly to the next. The tongue of one board slots into the groove of another, while the v-joint forms a subtle shadow line that adds visual depth to the finished surface.
The profile suits both external wall coverings and internal feature walls, and is commonly specified for residential builds, commercial developments, and outbuildings.

Meeting fire safety regulations
Current building regulations demand higher fire performance from construction materials, and untreated timber typically cannot meet these standards. Our
fire retardant treatment for timber allows TGV to achieve full regulatory compliance.
We impregnate TGV boards with BURNBLOCK®, a non-toxic solution made from natural ingredients. Each treated species achieves a Euroclass B-s1,d0 rating under EN 13501-1 and complies fully with the Construction Products Regulations (CPR).
How the treatment works
Using vacuum pressure impregnation, we drive BURNBLOCK® deep into the timber. When exposed to heat, the treated surface chars and releases water, absorbing thermal energy and preventing oxygen from reaching the wood fibres. This limits flame spread, reduces smoke production, and provides more time for occupants to evacuate should a fire occur.
The treatment is invisible, leaving no residue, greasy texture, or colour change. The timber looks exactly as it did before treatment and retains its full material strength – it is ready for painting, staining, or sealing.
Applications
External wall cladding is the most common application for TGV timber. The profile protects the building envelope while the v-joint detail creates shadow lines that add dimension to facades.
Internal feature walls have become increasingly popular in commercial interiors such as restaurants, hotels, and office spaces, where
fire-treated timber allows designers to add warmth and texture while meeting strict regulatory standards.
Garden rooms, outbuildings, and extensions are also well suited to TGV, whether matching existing architecture or creating deliberate contrast.
Combining timber products
TGV timber can be specified alongside other treated products from HALT. It pairs well with fire retardant
reclaimed timber for projects where character and sustainability are priorities, and
fire retardant sheet materials can be specified for other elements within the same build.
We treat various timber species to suit different aesthetic requirements, from contemporary pale tones to rich, warm hues. Each species achieves the same Euroclass B-s1,d0 rating after treatment, so the species you choose does not affect fire performance.
Certification and documentation
All treated timber carries CE and UKCA certification, providing the documented compliance that building control officers require. Each order includes full certification documentation, fire classification reports under EN 13501-1, and performance data.
BURNBLOCK® contains none of the substances on the REACH Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) list. The treatment is water-based, completely biodegradable, and causes no adverse effects to the environment.
